Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer online therapy across the UK?

Yes. I provide online CBT and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to adults across the UK. Sessions take place via a secure video platform, allowing you to access therapy from your own home or another private space.

Online therapy is effective, flexible, and often more accessible than in-person sessions.

What issues do you work with?

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety and worry

  • Low self-esteem and confidence

  • Depression and low mood

  • Social anxiety

  • Relationship and interpersonal difficulties

  • Life transitions and change

If you’re unsure whether therapy might help with what you’re experiencing, we can discuss this during a free consultation.

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based psychological therapy that looks at the relationship between thoughts, emotions and behaviours.

CBT helps you:

  • Understand unhelpful thinking patterns

  • Develop practical coping strategies

  • Make meaningful changes in daily life

CBT is recommended by NICE and is commonly used for anxiety, depression and low self-esteem.

What is Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)?

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that focuses on how relationships and life events affect mood and emotional wellbeing.

IPT can be particularly helpful if your difficulties are linked to:

  • Relationship conflict

  • Grief or loss

  • Life transitions

  • Changes in roles or identity

IPT is an individual therapy, not couples therapy.

How much do sessions cost?

My fee is £105 per session, however depending on circumstance I am able to offer some flexibility.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes. I aim to be transparent about fees so you can make an informed decision before starting therapy.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I accept insurance. If you plan to use private health insurance, it’s usually best to check with your provider first to confirm your level of cover and whether you need authorisation.

If you have questions about using insurance, I’m happy to discuss this with you.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This gives you the opportunity to:

  • Briefly talk about what’s been going on for you

  • Ask any questions you may have

  • Get a sense of whether working together feels right

There’s no obligation to continue after the consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on what you’d like to work on.

Some people come for short-term, focused work, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll review progress together and adjust as needed.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance to:

  • Explore what’s brought you to therapy

  • Discuss your goals

  • Begin to understand patterns that may be maintaining difficulties

There’s no pressure to share everything at once. We work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes. Research shows that online CBT is as effective as in-person therapy for many difficulties, including anxiety and depression.

Many clients find online therapy more accessible and less intimidating, particularly if anxiety or low mood makes attending in-person appointments difficult.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of therapy.

What you share in sessions remains confidential, with a few legal and ethical exceptions, such as serious risk of harm. These limits will be explained clearly before therapy begins.

Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?

No. You don’t need a diagnosis or referral to access therapy. Many people seek therapy because they’re struggling or feeling stuck, rather than because they have a formal diagnosis.

How do I get started?

The first step is to arrange a free 15-minute consultation. From there, we can decide together whether therapy feels like the right next step for you.
